              Located inMeyreuil, a few kilometers east of Aix-en-Provence, theChâteau Simoneis remarkably nestled in a cirque offering a magnificent view of theSainte-Victoire mountainSheltered from the wind and benefiting from the humidity of the small Arc river, the 23 hectares planted withChâteau Simoneform a mosaic of vines amidst oaks and Aleppo pines. Around ten grape varieties are planted, sometimes even interplanted, on north-facing slopes in poor clay soils resting on a limestone base formed from scree deposited on the Sainte-Victoire Mountain. The main grape varieties being theGrenache, THEMourvèdre, thereSyrah, thereClairetteAndthe UgniHere, the very old vines sometimes reach over 100 years old.have never been exposed to pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

              Château Simoneis the property of theRougier familysince 1830. It is atJean RougierIt was the oenologist who oversaw the transformation of the vineyard after the First World War. He was the one who finally succeeded in obtaining the appellation decree for the Palette AOC. Nowadays it isJean-Françoisand his wifeFlorencewho took up the torch from his father René and perpetuate the oenological tradition of this great estate.
