This is one of the rarest expressions in Bordeaux. A vintage with very low volume.
The 2025 vintage of Château Cheval Blanc stands out as one of the most interesting releases of recent years—born of extremes, yet crafted with remarkable precision. Our team's tasting at the estate reveals a wine forged under severe water stress, with nearly four months of uninterrupted drought and record-breaking heat peaking at 41.6°C, resulting in one of the lowest yields since 1991 (barely 15 hl/ha) After several green harvests, the exceptionally small berries with thick skins naturally produced an imposing tannic structure. However, the timely rains of August proved decisive: they revived phenolic ripeness and tempered the alcohol potential.
What's striking in the glass isn't just the power, but the estate's deliberate pursuit of balance—with harvests carried out shortly after rain to avoid over-concentration. The result is a Cheval Blanc paradox: deeply concentrated yet remarkably fresh, with moderate alcohol, slender aromas and a controlled extraction that preserves purity and precision.
This vintage 2025, still in its early stages, promises to be a beautiful display of complexity and harmony.
