    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

The Chappellet Pritchard Hill has a deep red color, reminiscent of the richness of ripe fruit. On the nose, aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, and subtle spicy notes mingle harmoniously. On the palate, this full-bodied wine reveals a beautiful structure, with silky tannins and a freshness that balances the richness of the flavors. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a lasting impression of juicy fruit and delicate spices.

    Food & wine pairings

This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs perfectly with a grilled filet mignon or a platter of mature cheeses.

Great wines reflect the complexity and character of great vineyards, as well as the vision, passion, and patience of those who cultivate them. Spanning altitudes from 800 to 1,800 feet, the vineyards of domaine Chappellet, located on Pritchard Hill, has gained worldwide renown for its grapes giving rise to mountain wines of rare depth, longevity and elegance.

    Owner and history

Founded by Molly and Donn Chappellet in 1967, the domaine Today, we see the second generation of the Chappellet family taking ownership of the exceptional mountain terroir and committing to perpetuating their father's vision for future generations.

    Vinification and aging

In the mid-1990s, as our vineyard was maturing and making considerable qualitative progress, Donn Chappellet, Cyril Chappellet and Phillip Corallo-Titus began to consider crafting a wine that would embody the quintessence of Pritchard Hill.
A rigorous process of selecting plots and barrels, resulting in more than thirty blending sessions, and generally favoring plots from the domaine located at high altitudes.
