Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion is not simply a Left Bank wine. The style of Guillaume Pouthier evokes that of Domaine Jamet : a unique vision, a style driven by Cabernet Franc.

The 2025 vintage of Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion is, in many ways, a true meditation on water—its absence, its return, and its decisive imprint on the vine. After a winter marked by well-distributed rainfall and early, even budbreak, the growing season evolved into a prolonged summer drought of nearly three months, naturally regulating the vine's vigor and producing small, highly concentrated berries. Crucially, the water stress limited sugar accumulation, thus preserving the balance and moderating the alcohol levels. The September rains arrived at just the right time, reviving vine activity and allowing for a smooth harvest between September 7 and 19.

Remarkably, the property boasts the highest proportion of Cabernet Franc planted on the entire left bank — a bold signature. Its terroir embodies the pure tradition of Pessac-Léognan: two elegant, gravelly hillocks, interspersed with clay and sand, giving rise to wines of remarkable depth and complexity. In the glass, the wine reveals a striking balance: Dense yet vibrant, carried by finely chiseled tannins and a luminous freshness.
