    Owner and history

    Château Smith Haut Lafitte places particular importance on preserving its exceptional terroir. The ecosystem is protected, and its gravelly soils, spread over 87 contiguous hectares, are cultivated using organic farming methods.

    Vinification and aging

    The grapes are hand-grown and vinified in a brand new winery. The grapes are processed in batches so that the full identity of the terroir can be expressed.
    Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the few properties to produce its own wooden containers for aging its wines.
