The vineyard extends over about ten hectares in a hilly and wild landscape. The Soils: The terroir is a geological mosaic rich in gravel, limestone pebbles, and yellow marl. These well-drained soils force the vines to draw their identity from deep within, giving the wines a characteristic minerality and tension. THE Climat Located in the Hérault hinterland, the vineyard benefits from sunny days and cool nights, a crucial temperature range to preserve the acidity and aromatic elegance of the berries.

Owner and history

The La Chapelle Saint Mathieu vineyard is a small, undisclosed gem of the Languedoc, distinguished by its prestigious pedigree and artisanal approach. Although its name evokes the village of Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers, the domaine is actually rooted in the terroir of Aniane, a land of winemaking legends (neighboring iconic estates such as Grange des Pères or Mas de Daumas Gassac). THE domaine is the result of the work of Jean-Emmanuel Parcé, from the famous family of Domaine from the Rectory in Banyuls. This family connection is not anecdotal: we find in the wines of Chapelle Saint Mathieu the same quest for finesse, precision and respect for the fruit that makes the reputation of the Parcé in the Roussillon.

Vinification and aging

Sustainable & Organic Agriculture: The domaine works its young vines (around thirty years old on average) with a low-intervention approach, favouring soil life so that each vintage expresses the purity of its location.

A Mosaic of Grape Varieties: Unlike some single-varietal estates, La Chapelle Saint Mathieu focuses on blending. For white wines as well as la cuvée Jourde features a complex blend (Roussanne, Chenin, Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Grenache Gris) which brings a rare depth.

The team's opinion

The Chapelle Saint Mathieu - Cuvée "Jourde" Blanc is a rare and authentic wine from the Languedoc region. domaine, crafted with a very nature-respecting approach, this delivers a white of character, far removed from industrial standards.
