A family history rooted in tradition

The history of Maison Louis Jadot begins with Louis Henry Denis Jadot, who founded the house in 1859. However, the family's involvement in winemaking dates back to 1826, with the acquisition of Clos des Ursules, a Premier Cru vineyard in Beaune. Over the generations, the Jadot family has developed its estate and extended its reputation beyond the borders of France.

In 1985, the house was acquired by the Kopf family, while maintaining family management thanks to the involvement of the Gagey family. Pierre-Henry Gagey led the house until 2023, when Thomas Seiter succeeded him, with Thibault Gagey as managing director. This family continuity ensures the preservation of the values ​​and quality for which Maison Louis Jadot is renowned.

An exceptional vineyard in the heart of Burgundy

Maison Louis Jadot owns and operates approximately 270 hectares of vineyards spread across the main appellations of Burgundy, notably in Côte d'Or, Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Notable properties include Domaine Ferret in Fuissé and Château des Jacques in Moulin-à-Vent.

The vineyards benefit from varied terroirs, ranging from the limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune to the granite of Beaujolais, allowing for a diverse expression of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties. The estate is committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, with sustainable practices and a particular focus on biodiversity.

A winemaking process combining tradition and innovation

The winemaking philosophy of Maison Louis Jadot is based on respect for the terroir and minimal intervention. Under the direction of Frédéric Barnier, successor to Jacques Lardière, the house favors fermentations with indigenous yeasts and a moderate use of new oak, in order to preserve the pure expression of the fruit.

The red wines are made with long macerations to extract color and structure, while the white wines ferment in oak barrels, with regular lees stirring to enrich the texture. Each cuvée is carefully aged, allowing the wines to develop the complexity and finesse characteristic of great Burgundy wines.
