The Château Gazin vineyard covers 26 hectares, with vines averaging 35 years old. The soil is primarily composed of clay and sand, providing natural drainage and good water retention, ideal for growing Merlot. The region's temperate oceanic climate, with mild winters and sunny summers, allows for optimal grape ripening. Respectful viticultural practices ensure the health of the vines and the pure expression of this exceptional terroir.

    Owner and history

Today, Château Gazin is managed by the de Courcel family, who have preserved the estate's heritage and authenticity. Their philosophy is based on a deep respect for the terroir and winemaking traditions. By focusing on quality, they have developed the estate while remaining true to its roots. Their efforts have elevated Château Gazin to one of Pomerol's undisputed benchmarks, a testament to their passion for the art of winemaking.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Gazin is carried out with care, blending tradition and innovation. The grapes are harvested by hand and then meticulously sorted. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats, preserving the aromas and freshness of the fruit. Aging occurs in oak barrels, approximately one-third of which are renewed each year. This aging period of 12 to 18 months imparts complexity and structure to the wine, while harmoniously integrating the oak notes.
