The color of this 2020 Côte de Brouilly is a brilliant ruby red. On the nose, it reveals aromas of fresh red fruits, cherry, and raspberry, with a delicate floral touch. On the palate, the attack is supple and fruity, evolving into an elegant structure and silky tannins. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness and deliciousness.

THE domaine It is small (approximately 4 hectares initially), but it brings together ideally located plots in two major wine regions: Chiroubles - This is the highest cru of Beaujolais. Here, the soil is composed of decomposed granite (granitic sands). The style: Wines of extreme finesse, floral (violet), ethereal, with a crystalline freshness. This is undoubtedly the wine of the domaine which comes closest to the elegance of a Volnay. Flowery - The domaine owns plots of land such as La Joie du Palais and Bel-Air. The style: Fuller-bodied, silky wines with notes of peony and luscious red berries. The Fleurie terroir imparts a remarkable depth of texture.

Owner and history

THE Domaine Lafarge-Vial is one of the most exciting projects to have emerged in Beaujolais in recent years. It represents the union of two illustrious names from Burgundy: Frédéric Lafarge (of the legendary Domaine Michel Lafarge in Volnay) and his wife Chantal Vial. In 2014, this couple of purist winemakers decided to cross the border from the Côte d'Or to settle in Beaujolais, convinced by the exceptional potential of the granite terroirs for the Gamay grape variety.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Lafarge-Vial is crafted with meticulous care to preserve the integrity of its aromas and the freshness of the fruit. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being vinified in vats. Maceration is conducted gently and with control to optimally extract tannins and aromas. The aging process, the details of which are not disclosed, contributes to refining the wine's structure and developing its aromatic complexity.
