Producer

Producer

The Beaux Frères vineyard stretches across the steep slopes of the Ribbon Ridge appellation, benefiting from a microclimate ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The terroir is composed of marine sedimentary soils, rich in clay and sandstone, which impart a distinctive minerality and elegant structure to the wines. The southeast exposure ensures optimal sun exposure, allowing for slow and even ripening of the grapes. Viticultural practices are focused on respecting the environment, with sustainable soil management and limited inputs. Each plot is cultivated with care to best express the terroir's potential.

Owner and history

Beaux Frères Vineyard is now run by Michael Etzel, who continues to perpetuate the original vision of the domaine. Their commitment to quality and respect for local produce are the cornerstones of Beaux Frères' philosophy. The team at domaine is composed of passionate individuals, dedicated to excellence and driven by the desire to produce unique and memorable wines. Each member brings their expertise and sensitivity, thus contributing to the creation of exceptional Pinot Noirs.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Beaux Frères is a blend of classic Burgundian traditions and a "laissez-faire" approach typical of great artisan wineries in Oregon. The goal is to allow the Ribbon Ridge terroir to express itself with minimal technological intervention.

Organic and Biodynamic Farming: Although not systematically certified on all plots, they follow very strict principles of soil regeneration.

Hand Harvesting: The grapes are harvested at optimal phenolic maturity, often with very low yields to concentrate the aromas.
