This Pinot Noir displays a brilliant ruby color. On the nose, it exudes aromas of black cherry and raspberry, with delicate spicy and floral notes. The palate is full and silky, with fine tannins and lovely freshness. The finish is long and persistent, with fruity and slightly earthy notes. A balanced and harmonious red wine.

The terroir is composed of varied soils, ranging from gravel to silty clay, which gives the wines great complexity. The grape varieties are carefully selected, with meticulous attention paid to choosing the Pinot Noir clones best suited to the terroir. The aim is to produce grapes of the highest quality, fully expressing the potential of the Marlborough terroir. Sustainable and environmentally friendly viticultural practices are employed to preserve the richness and biodiversity of the vineyard.

Kevin Judd is the owner and passionate winemaker behind Greywacke. Drawing on his experience at Cloudy Bay, he has created a domaine In his own image, where quality and authenticity are paramount, he is surrounded by a dedicated team who share his passion for wine and his commitment to the Marlborough terroir. Together, they work tirelessly to produce exceptional wines that reflect the beauty and diversity of New Zealand.

Vinification and aging

The Greywacke Marlborough Pinot Noir is vinified with the utmost care to preserve the integrity of the fruit and extract the finest aromas. The grapes are hand-harvested and rigorously sorted. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. Aging occurs in French oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, for an undisclosed period. This stage allows the tannins to soften and the wine's aromas to develop greater complexity. Bottling is carried out without filtration to preserve the wine's full richness and complexity.
