The 2022 Quintessa is a charming wine that opens with intense aromas of black cherry and blackcurrant, complemented by notes of tobacco, bay leaf, cedar, and dark chocolate. Assertive and inviting from the first sip, this wine offers harmonious flavors. The palate reveals dark fruit and subtle notes of crushed stone, tar, and graphite. On the finish, this vintage unveils the fine tannins characteristic of the Quintessa terroir, supported by a rich texture and ample fruit.

    Owner and history

Quintessa is a winery founded in 1990 by Agustin and Valeria Huneeus, both originally from Chile. Located in the Rutherford region of Napa Valley, California, the vineyards are cultivated using biodynamic methods. Agustin began as the general manager of a small Chilean winery, tasked with making it the largest in Chile. Valeria, on the other hand, studied medicine but ultimately turned to her passion for viticulture and oenology.
