Owner and history

Charles van Canneyt is the young winemaker in charge of the Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat. Wishing to increase his production, he launched a trading business under his own name in 2012, before developing it in 2013. This venture is based on a collaboration with Johan Björklund, a former wine merchant who now manages the Hôtel de Beaune, a highly regarded and respected establishment. Charles is undeniably a highly talented winemaker who also benefits from an exceptional network: his connections throughout the Côte d'Or give him access to some of the region's most prestigious appellations for his wine trading business, notably Chambertin, Chambertin-Clos of Bèze, the Chevalier-Montrachet and many other Grands Crus and Premiers Crus among the most famous.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process of Chambertin Clos The 2016 Bèze stands out for its respectful winemaking process. The grapes, harvested by hand, are carefully sorted before being destemmed. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats, where indigenous yeasts are favored, allowing for a faithful expression of the terroir. Aging, lasting 12 to 18 months, occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new. This method gives the wine a harmonious structure and subtle aromas, while preserving the freshness and complexity of the Pinot Noir.
