Tasting of Bordeaux Primeurs Rive Gauche 2015 wines

Bordeaux Primeurs Rive Gauche 2015 Tasting

The episodes of bloom and veraison took place in perfect conditions in June and July; the relative drought will have allowed the development of a small remarkable grape with Thick skinThe light rains in August brought to the vine the humidity needed to revive and promote the plant cycleThen September arrived with episodes of light rain At southern Médoc and significantly higher in the North.

Bordeaux Primeurs Rive Gauche: the wines of Margaux 2015 (southern Médoc)

L'name Margaux present on this vintage a very high level and fairly homogeneousLet us remember that the wines of Margaux are the subject of assembly mostly based on Cabernet Sauvignon And Merlotboth presenting pretty phenolic maturities to the vintage. THE Petit-Verdot grape varieties, Cabernet Francs and sometimes Carmenère complement in varying ways theassembly specific to Château.

The wines tasted have alcohol levels between 13 and 14% and are subject to a beautiful flexibility and ripe tanninsThese are pleasant wines buy without hesitation, in unlimited quantity especially since yields this year are historically students.

Our favorites:

Château Margaux And Red Flag are part of our best tastings across all designations. The Red Pavilion would be according to the Château One of the best ever produced. Also worth noting are the excellent Brane Cantenac, Angludet And Malescot-Saint-Exupéry.

Not tasted:

Château Palmer And Durfort-Vivens.

Wine tasting of the 2015 Saint Julien wines (central Médoc)

OUR tasting committee was also captivated by theexcellence of wines presented for tasting to such an extent that very few wines were mentioned in the "disappointment" category.
The assemblies are progressing each year gradually towards more Cabernet Sauvignon, to the detriment of Merlot more difficult to control And richer in alcohol on this nameThe wines of Saint Julien offer a nice compromise between the power of the Pauillac to the North and the finesse of Margaux south among the Bordeaux primeurs left bank.

We were captivated by the excellent drinkability of these wines and the fineness of tannins whose alcohol levels range between 13 and 13.5°.

Our favorites:

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou (95% Cabernet Sauvignon), Léoville Poyferré, Branaire Ducru, Beychevelle, Saint Peter And Beaucaillou Cross

Not tasted:

Château Léoville Las Cases And Clos du Marquis.

Tasting the 2015 Pauillac wines (central Médoc)

It is in this name that we found the greatest disparity in terms of qualitative with sometimes tight wines, austere And inexpressive and sometimes wines with soft tannins with beautiful aromatic expressions.

Our favorites:

Pontet-Canet, Countess Pichon, Lynch Bages, Lynch Moussas And Clerc Milon.

Our disappointments:

Grand-Puy-Ducasse, Pichon Baron.

Not tasted:

Mouton Rothschild And Lafite Rothschild.

The wines of Saint-Estèphe 2015 (northern Médoc)

We had been warned, the rainfall has Saint-Estèphe position this name lagging behind this vintage. We were therefore eagerly awaiting this tasting which we ended up really liking. Montrose, as in Calon Ségurwe found some specific wines, full of freshness, sometimes tense, with a elegant tannic structure and an alcohol content below 13.5%. The strength is expressed with reserve and eleganceThese two areas, advised by Eric Boissenot, one of the most talented oenologisthave practiced gentle extractions and carried out a meticulously precise addition of press wine (residual juice extraction (as close as possible to the skin).

Our favorites:

Château Montrose, Calon-Ségur.
Special mentions to Marquis de Calon, Meney, Lilian Ladouys And Cos Labory.

Not tasted:

Cos d'Estournel.

The wines of the Haut-Médoc 2015 (from north to south)

In the Bordeaux Primeurs on the left bank, theHaut-Médoc appellation extends from north to south, with the northernmost part being... Château Sociando-Mallet and to the South the Château CantemerleWe tasted some wines from this appellation. good wines with, nevertheless, a certain heterogeneity. These are ultimately the Castles in the central part which appealed to us the least.

Our favorites:

Château Sociando-Mallet And Cantemerle.
Special mention for Potensac (Médoc – located in the south).

Not tasted:

Château The Lagoon.
