The 2025 vintage of Château Cos d'Estournel immediately establishes itself as one of the most singular interpretations of property in recent yearsrevealing a style of high precision and a remarkable restraintDuring our tasting at the estate, what strikes you first is the texture : tannins of unusual softness, almost creamy, shaped by a growing season where cool nights preserved aromatic freshness and refined the wine's balance. Indeed, Cos, located in the northernmost appellation of the classified growths, on hillsides exposed to the refreshing influences of the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Gironde estuary to the east, produces wines with remarkable fruit brightness and particularly mouthwatering acidity.
The timely rains at the end of August played a key role, delicately refining the skins and giving rise to a wine that is far more balanced than one might expect from a sunny vintage. This gives him a more measured and classic profile than in 2016. than the more opulent expressions of 2018 or 2022. With yields around 29 hl/ha, the wine displays an impressive concentration without excess, structured around a precise framework, carried by a vibrant and crisp fruit.
