THE Clos Fairies: First Fruits of 2011

Clos Fairies

« THE Clos fairies"It's a plot of vines where fairies would live, if they existed. The place is very secluded, very beautiful, very wild, very romantic, and it inspired our name."

After this excellent definition, it's time to announce the long-awaited release of the 2011 Primeurs of Domaine of Clos des Fées Primeurs 2011. Its reputation is well established and the quality of the wines places this domaine among the greatest of Roussillon despite its young age (First vintage in 1998).

THE Clos des Fées is about to unveil a magical 2011 vintage

The Roussillon region enjoyed a rather idyllic 2011 vintage, with rain in the spring, a beautiful sunny summer, and cool nights. These weather conditions allowed for the production of aromatic wines with a lovely balance. Some producers are even talking about... "Vintage of the century". All the conditions are therefore in place for a good purchase! Vintage superb domaine exceptional.

Thanks to vines that are 50 to 100 years old, the Vieilles Vignes offers you an aromatic, concentrated wine that will improve after a minimum of 3 years in the bottle. "The nose is fruity (blackcurrant, strawberry, raspberry). A supple attack that unfolds gently. The palate is round with fine, silky tannins."

THE Clos Des Fées is more powerful, rich, and silky, ideally enjoyed between 8 and 12 years of age. The blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Carignan offers aromas of candied fruit, licorice, and a subtle hint of spice. Aging in oak barrels imparts a touch of vanilla, perfectly integrated into the wine. There Little Siberia gives us the best of Grenache Noir. This small plot of vines is swept by an icy wind, which gives it the name of Little SiberiaThe wine is powerful and majestic; the intensity of the aromas is admirably balanced by a beautiful freshness. A masterful creation, and quantities are limited. Hurry!
