From Château Canolle to the Gervoson family
Throughout its history, which began in the 17th century,Château Larrivet Haut-BrionIt changed its name several times. From the vine to the winery
When theGervoson familyUpon taking over the Château, Philippe and Christine found that only 17 hectares of vines remained. Deeply attached to its history, they committed to restoring the château's viticultural unity. They assembled a team of loyal and dedicated experts. Together, they continued modernizing the infrastructure (particularly the winery) and reorganizing the vineyard. To fully capitalize on the terroir's advantages, a geo-pedological study was also conducted.
In the winery, a new arrival has been instrumental in ensuring the quality of the wines since 2007. Indeed, he has taken on the role of general manager and winemaker ofLarrivet Haut-Brionis namedBruno LemoineHis taste for challenge and his expertise now allow the wines to fully express their elegance and character.

The origin of wines

The quality of the wines ofLarrivet Haut-BrionThis stems initially from the quality of their raw material. Indeed, the team takes meticulous care of the vines, right up to the harvest period when healthy and perfectly ripe grapes are picked.
Obviously the terroir ofPessac-LéognanThe vineyard, now covering 75 hectares, also plays a role. It stretches across attractive, remarkably well-exposed slopes. Its location also allows for excellent drainage. As a result, the vines thrive in the fine gravelly soil, with sandy or clayey matrices. The red wine is predominantly made from...Merlot, then fromCabernet Sauvignonand of theCabernet FrancAnd for the white wine, the plots are made up of 80% ofSauvignonand 20% ofSémillon.
From the pretty berries that were harvested,Larrivet Haut-Brionproduces a Grand Cru in red and white. For each color, the range expands with 2 other wines.
