The first traces ofChâteau OlivierThe estate dates back to the very ancient seigneury, to the High Middle Ages. Located in the heart of nature, just 11 kilometers from Bordeaux, the grounds comprise woods, vineyards, and meadows, with the château emerging from the woods as if in a clearing. It is even said that the Black Prince enjoyed hunting in its game-rich woods. Since the 19th century, the château has belonged to an old Bordeaux family, theBethmann, who took possession of it in 1886, and who also served on the Bordeaux city council at the same time. In 1953, the quality of the vineyard earned it the title ofGrand Cru Classé de Graveswhich he has kept ever since.Jean-Jacques de Bethmann, the current owner has entrusted its management toLaurent Lebrun, an agricultural engineer and oenologist, who knew how to surround himself with a whole team of specialists, perpetuating the renown of the castle.

A large estate of 60 hectares, located entirely within the appellationPessac-Léognan, THEChâteau OlivierIt extends across high-quality soil composed of gravel on a clay-limestone base. The great distinction of this vineyard is that it has an exceptional terroir for both white and red wines. There are 8 hectares cultivated for white grapes and 52 for red, both producing exceptional terroirs.Classified as Grand Cru wines of GravesThere are 6 different grape varieties, 3 white (Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle), and 3 red (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot since 2011 only). The estate is managed plot by plot, according to the principle oforganic farmingbut without certification. The vines, averaging 20 years old for the reds and 30 for the whites, are harvested by hand into crates, with selective sorting of the grapes carried out both in the vineyard and at the winery.
