From manorial estates to optimizing wine quality

ThereHouse of the Golden Sproutwas born in16th centuryin Volnay. It is a former manor house, once home to a lord of the manor. This manorial status could explain the imposing 20-meter-long structure. Then, in 1819, Jean Baptiste Eugène Jobard, also known as Baron Dumesnil, acquired the estate. He was considered "the leading lord of the village." The property was then passed down through generations. In 1964, the Ferté family acquired the house at auction after purchasing the vineyard.Golden Cloveceded by the de Lavoreille family, the Maison de la Pousse d'Or was finally reunited with the vineyard that gave it its name. Subsequently, the Ferté family sold the property in 1994 to Patrick Landanger. This new owner undertook extensive renovations upon his arrival, restoring the estate's prestige and improving winemaking techniques to enhance the quality of the wines produced.
