the origin of wine

The story begins in 1959 whenWilliam Fèvreharvested its very first crop. In itsChablisOriginally, his family had been producing wine for 250 years, leaving him a 7-hectare estate. Over time, the reputation of this prestigious estate has steadily grown, as has its size, until it became the largest vineyard inChabliswith no less than 78 hectares of vineyards, including 15.9 hectares classified asPremier Cruand 15.2 inGrand Cru. THEDomaine William FèvreIt continues the work of its former owner: producing wine with passion and total respect for the land. The team does everything possible to offer us very high-quality wines thanks to their rigor and precision, in a constant pursuit of excellence.

Currently under the direction of Didier Séguier, who is also the cellar master, the estate produces 300,000 bottles annually. The estate aims to preserve its vineyards and their ecosystem as best as possible. With meticulous attention to detail, it adheres to well-established rules. Thus, the harvest is done by hand, yields are limited, and the grapes are sorted with great care. It is thanks to these choices and its commitment to a sustainable approach that...sustainable agriculturethat the estate acquired the designation in February 2015High Environmental ValueThis title is the most demanding level of environmental certification for farms.

With its original 7 hectares,William Fèvrehas successfully developed its business over the years. Gradually expanding its original holdings on historic estates, the estate now comprises 78 hectares. Of these, 16 are Premier Cru, 15 are Grand Cru, and 20 are Chablis.

Since 2005, the estate has applied a sustainable farming method, which has earned it the High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. Furthermore, for several years now, thewine productionis done according to agricultural practicesbiological. Chablis being situated in a territory alternating marl and marly limestone, the wines that come from it have this typical mineral character and this great freshness.
