Cerasuolo di Vittoria is a Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin (DOCG) in southern Sicily, in the Ragusa and Vittoria region. Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes make up the majority of the region's wines. This land is the cradle of viticulture, with traces dating back to the 6th century BC. In 1606, Vittoria was founded, and Spanish settlers popularized winemaking. In 2005, the vineyards were granted DOCG status. The wines of this appellation have a distinctive character, reflecting the unique and rich terroir of Sicily.
