    This Vasse Felix boasts a deep, intense red color. The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe black fruit, blackcurrant, and spicy notes.     THE domaine Vasse Felix includes the original Margaret River vines, planted in 1967. Since 1987, the Holmes à Court family has guided Vasse Felix with an unwavering vision: to make the domaine and the Margaret River wine region, and make them globally recognized for the next 100 years and beyond. Viticulture here respects the unique needs of the pristine environment and the ancient, robust soils of Margaret River. Cultivated holistically, we have developed a specialized system to nourish soil health, ensure vine longevity, and preserve biodiversity. This system draws on over 50 years of experience, combining time-honored cultivation methods with targeted and judicious interventions. Most of the year is dedicated to the "soil season," where nutrition, regeneration, and microbiology take priority. During the "growth season," we work intuitively and intensively with the structure and foliage of each vine to optimize the quality and resistance of our grapes.

    Owner and history

    Felix Vase, domaine The founding winery of Margaret River was established by Dr. Thomas Brendan Cullity in 1967. Among its first plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec vines, from which it produced the first red wine of the domaine. The Tom Cullity comes from these original vines and represents the purest expression of our history, our terroir and our vintage; the pinnacle of Vasse Felix.

    Vinification and aging

    All the plots were destemmed without crushing, then left to ferment naturally.
    The Cabernet Sauvignon (78%) fermented in static tanks with gentle pump-overs, then macerated on the skins for 30 days. This year was particularly favorable for tannin ripening, and the maceration allowed the wine to develop a solid structure and stabilize.
    The Malbec and Petit Verdot (22%) were fermented in open vats, with manual punch-down and dry pressing.
    The small plots were pressed in a vertical press and aged in fine French oak barrels for 19 months.
    The richness of the fruit in this vintage required a greater use of new oak compared to previous vintages.
