The vineyard of Domaine E. Guigal is located on sunny terraces on the steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie. The soils are primarily composed of schist, providing natural drainage and a mineral richness that is reflected in the quality of the grapes. The vines, averaging 30 years old, are cultivated with care, promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly viticulture. This unique terroir, combined with a warm and dry microclimate, allows for the production of grapes with a high concentration of aromas.

Owner and history

Today, the Domaine E. Guigal is headed by Philippe Guigal, continuing his grandfather's legacy, his passion for wine and his attachment to the land are at the heart of his approach. He is committed to producing exceptional wines while respecting the environment. Thanks to his expertise and vision, the domaine has established itself as one of the leaders in the appellation Côte-Rôtie, and their vintages are now benchmarks for enthusiasts worldwide.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process Côte-Rôtie La Landonne 2013 is crafted with meticulous care. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed before being fermented in wooden vats. This process allows for a gentle extraction of tannins and aromas. The wine is then aged for 36 months in oak barrels, some of which are new. This aging period allows the wine to develop structure, refine its complexity, and cultivate spicy and woody notes. Each step, from harvest to bottling, is carried out with particular attention, true to the tradition of... domaine.
