The Arborina vineyard, located in the municipality of La Morra, is one of the most prestigious crus of Barolo. Its southwest exposure and ideal altitude give the grapes optimal ripeness and exceptional aromatic concentration. The terroir is composed of limestone and clay soils, which promote drainage and water retention, allowing the vines to fully flourish. climat The climate is continental, with hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters, which contributes to the complexity and richness of the wines. The vines are cultivated with great respect for the environment, in order to preserve biodiversity and the quality of the terroir.

Owner and history

THE domaine Elio Altare is now run by Silvia Altare, Elio's daughter, who passionately and skillfully carries on the family legacy. She is committed to maintaining the quality and authenticity of the wines, while bringing her own unique perspective and expertise. Silvia Altare is an iconic figure in Barolo, renowned for her hard work and dedication to winemaking.

Vinification and aging

The 2017 Barolo Arborina is made with meticulous attention to detail. The grapes are hand-harvested and rigorously selected. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by extended maceration to extract tannins and aromas. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for an extended period, allowing it to refine and develop its complexity. Finally, it is bottled and cellared for several months before release.

The team's opinion

A Barolo of rare elegance, which reveals the quintessence of Nebbiolo with remarkable finesse and depth.
