Producer

The 160 hectares of vineyards are spread across the Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, and Dry Creek Valley. Ted Seghesio is the winemaker, and the winery is located at the confluence of these three wine regions, in Healdsburg. The range, heavily focused on the Zinfandel grape, is produced primarily from the family vineyard, which includes the first plot planted by the ancestor in 1895. The grape variety covers approximately 100 hectares, including very vieilles vignes (90 years old) grown in goblet style in the Alexander and Dry Creek valleys. Small touches of secondary grape varieties (including Petite Sirah or Durif) sometimes complete the blends.

Owner and history

Seghesio Family Vineyards, founded in 1895 by Edoardo Seghesio, a Piedmontese immigrant, is a symbol of Californian winemaking excellence. With 160 hectares of vineyards spread across Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley and Dry Creek Valley, the domaine has built a reputation around Zinfandel, notably thanks to historic plots planted more than 90 years ago. Faithful to its Italian roots, the Seghesio family, through four generations, combines tradition and innovation by producing exceptional wines and celebrating the art of living at the crossroads of gastronomy and conviviality.
