Clos du Chapeau is a monopole of Domaine de l'Arlot, located in Premeaux-Prissey. The terroir rests on clay-limestone soils typical of the Côte de Nuits, giving the Pinot Noir a beautiful fruity and mineral expression. The vines, cultivated organically, are worked by hand, with respect for the living environment. This care given to each vine results in grapes of great purity, a true reflection of the climate and the vintage.

Owner and history

Owned by AXA Millésimes since 1987, Domaine de l'Arlot has experienced remarkable growth thanks to a passionate and dedicated team. For the past few years, Géraldine Godot, a talented oenologist, has been managing the estate with a modern vision, combining viticultural precision with respect for the terroir. Under her guidance, the wines have gained in purity and depth, while preserving the elegant signature of Arlot. The commitment to organic farming also demonstrates a genuine concern for sustainability.

Vinification and aging

Domaine de l'Arlot vinifies its wines using indigenous yeasts, employing a minimal-intervention approach. Clos du Chapeau is aged in French oak barrels, only some of which are new, to avoid masking the fruit. For the 2023 vintage, the focus was on balancing structure and finesse, resulting in a wine that is very approachable in its youth, without sacrificing its aging potential. The 12-month aging process refines its texture and reveals its Burgundian character.
